How do I fix PDFCrowd WordPress plugin license errors?

Start with the license error shown in the WordPress plugin settings or after a conversion. License errors usually mean the plugin is still using the demo license, the entered WordPress key does not match an active PDFCrowd account, or the account cannot create more output.

Check the License tab first

In the plugin settings, open the License tab.

If you are only testing the plugin, choose Demo. Demo mode works without entering a username or key, but generated output includes PDFCrowd watermarking and branding. If you need production output, choose Commercial.

For Commercial, enter your PDFCrowd username and WordPress key. The WordPress key is available in your PDFCrowd account after signing in.

License error 401

Error 401 means the plugin could not authenticate the license, or the license is not active.

Check that the License tab is set to Commercial, then re-enter the PDFCrowd username and WordPress key from your PDFCrowd account. Also confirm that the account has an active license or trial.

If you only wanted to use demo mode, switch the License tab back to Demo instead of leaving Commercial selected with empty or incorrect credentials.

License error 403

Error 403 means the service is suspended or the license has no credits left.

Check the license status and remaining credits in your PDFCrowd account. If the plan has no credits left, if renewal failed, or if the license was canceled, update the account or choose a plan that matches your expected usage.

For choosing a plan and understanding credits, use Which PDFCrowd plan do I need for the Save as PDF WordPress plugin?.

License error 432

Error 432 means the shared demo license has reached its limit.

The plugin can still be used, but not through the shared demo license at that moment. To continue without the demo limit, choose Commercial in the License tab and enter your own PDFCrowd username and WordPress key.

For the difference between demo mode and licensed output, use Can I use the Save as PDF plugin without a PDFCrowd license?.

After changing the license

Save the plugin settings and run one conversion. The plugin clears the stored license error after a successful conversion.

If the same license error appears again, use the exact error code when contacting support so the account state can be checked.
