pdf print issue when printing inside the browser

ofirindig wrote on 2013-04-04:
In the past few days we ran into a problem while printing a pdf document that is generated by your system.
The system generates a proper pdf, however once we try to print it inside the browser display it looks strange and non-proportional (and the printing is also strange and non-proportional) . If you save the file and print it outside the browser, it looks (and print) fine.

It is important to mention that no change was made by us in our system and everything went perfectly ok until last week.
Was there any change made by your side? Any version update maybe?

Could you please help us solving this? Your help will be much appreciated.

Attached are screen shots of what we get comparing to what it should look like.

There was no update on our end that could be causing this. Is the rendering incorrect in Google Chrome only?

Please send us ( a sample PDF file that exhibits this behavior and we will look into it.

It happens in all browsers.

I attached the PDF

and you can see the problem in this url:

Here are our observations:

  • The Google Chrome internal PDF viewer displays the PDF correctly. The issue happens only in the Print dialog when the "Fit to page" option is enabled.
  • Firefox now uses pdf.js which is currently in an experimental phase and is not rendering the PDF file correctly.
  • Other PDF rendering software displays the PDF correctly.

Just for your information, this is not matter of the past few days. We received another support request from you two months age (on Feb 7th) with a PDF file attached and that PDF file exhibits the same problem.

Our conclusion is that this may be a regression in the Chrome Print module, see for example here:!topic/chrome/REy2n67B1fM
