Blur part of the output

Hello, i want to have my asp.net application blur some parts of the page and then make a pdf.
my first idea was to make the color transparent and set a text-shadow property, this works well in the browser but will it render this effect in the PDF file?
If not, any other ideas how to blur text fields?

Unfortunately CSS transparency and text-shadow property are ignored when a page is printed to PDF.
I can't think of any way how to implement a blur off the top of my head, sorry.
