Hi,
Pdfcrowd is cool.
And if it can generate pdf at server side, it will be cooler.
In my project, I try to implement this function:
1. fill the form in my page,
2. after submitting, the page will generate the form info into pdf, and store in the server side.

New European Cookies law breaks 'Save as PDF' (1 reply)

Cookie Permission Requirement is a problem for saving a website with Save as PDF. I have attached a pic of the Save as PDF problem where access is denied. First, a response must be made to the cookie question Y/N.

The New European Cookie Laws are forcing many websites, including American ones, to ask for permission to use cookies. As you may know, many American and English speaking websites are international by nature and will ahve to comply.

Another point, I am logged in when I use Save as PDF, so I am assuming if the the cookie issue is resolved in some manner, Save as PDF will tehn capture the web page as a logged in event.

Hi everybody !

I've got a little problem, I would like to make a PDF from my HTML but I'm using the CSS3 property "column-count" and "column-gap". But it seems this property isn't supported yet.

So I've 2 questions :
- Is it may possible you include this property soon or not ?
- Is there someone who know another way to do my 3 columns ?

As a security measure, it would be good to have an https endpoint as well as http, perhaps at a higher purchase level

Hello, i'm from europe an i have not really a bad feeling to use "freeware". My financial situation isn't so good actually, i have every month to much days in the end. But your offer an effort with your products - i feel shame.

But perhaps i can give you some other substitution, i study actually computer forensics and work seems 10 years for SAP bevor i found my new inspiration. My first study was philosophic then programmer (cobol).

I hope i can say you, how many respect i have and i love your tools (my gf study law), so it will be a pleasure for me, to help you in different cases.

Hi,

I am still quite happy with your service!

After using it now several month, I received the first time the exception "Multiple API calls not allowed".

I guess the limit is one call at time and I understand why you limit the number of calls. Obviously I would like to suggest to raise the limit to e.g. 3-5 calls. I do not expect many parallel calls, but 2-3 calls are realistic.

Independent of raising the limit, I would like to suggest to include some kind of IPS like Semaphores etc. to avoid this error already in the library. I have written my own wrapper now, but having it in the official library (mayby as optional parameter) would be great!

PS: I am using the PHP lib.

How about the ability to send an email containing a URL, and having the PDF generated and delivered back to the sender by email?

I guess the PDF Preferences would also need to be saved with the account (for premium users) for page size, etc.

JoliPrint offers this service (for single web pages - send a single URL; for a "book" send multiple URLs in an email) but they are shutting down this service on 4th January.

Hello!

I've been trying to figure out a way to get my "float: right" images to not break across pages. I've read up in this forum that the pdfcrowd algorithm doesn't (yet?) support this feature. I'd love to hear what approaches people are taking, as I imagine that I'm not the only one who is facing this issue!

And, to the pdfcrowd creators: it would be fantastic if there could be a way for us to add a class to any element (paragraph, table, image, etc.) that we don't want broken across pages. Is this at all within the realm of possibility?

I have implemented Arial fonts in the html style sheet as internal stylesheet and that not applied even with class and also implemented with inline. But its not got applied. Only ArialMT is applied. Kindly provide some solution. Does font-face could be implemented then kindly post the steps for Arial. Its for PDF generated with api and then outputed on the webpage.

I have a page in which I would like to add header and footer. The footer is 200px high, and the footer only 30px high. I understand that I need to set the vertical margins. How can I set the vertical margin so that the header margin is different from the footer margin?

I have an issue where, on my development environment, not all images from the html are publicly available to PdfCrowd. A normal browser would not care. I do not want to disable all images.

In short: I would like to be able to generate a pdf with only part of the images available to PdfCrowd.

I have a question involving cover pages - it is typical that the cover page = "page 0", and that page number not be rendered for this page.

Can this be done using any current parameters? If not, is it on your road map?

The pdfcrowd settings' radio buttons offer either landscape or
portrait but we have portrait for text combined landscape for graphs in
single pdfs. Do you think that is possible to do with pdfcrowd?

It would be great if title attributes set tooltips within the PDF (like demonstrated here).

So if I have...

Hover Over Me

...in a browser, it displays "Hover Over Me" and, when you set your mouse over that text (in most browsers) a moment later it displays "Tooltip text is cool".

This also appears to be possible in PDFs per the InDesign example above (PDF demo), so it would be great if this translated in Pdfcrowd similarly.

This along with local links are the two things that keep me from considering this the perfect utility for my needs.

I rarely know if i am still logged in to the PDFCrowd website. I have to visit the site in order to determine my status. Can the PDFCrowd toolbar icon be greyed out when not logged in -- or is there another way to indicate whether or now my firefox browswer is currently logged in to the pdfcrowd website? Turns out I need to be logged in in order to save PDF files using my custom settings.

It seems like embedding of custom fonts using font-face is working. After generating the PDF I can view it in Mac Preview and in Adobe Reader and the font seems to be embedded correctly.

But when I attempt to load the PDF into Photoshop to rasterize it I'm getting an error. Also Illustrator complains about the font not being installed on the local system.

Is there an option to render all font glyphs in vector form (i.e. create outlines) so the embedded font is not needed?

Hi There,

Great product! Just discovered it, did some light testing and things look great! One feature I'd really really like to see is css page-break-inside implementation. When creating reports it would be nice to prevent certain sections from breaking onto a new page (Unless they're too big they have to fit onto two pages)

I mention this because in a report I'm working with the vertical sizing is dynamic so sometimes the PDF will display the header of a section but all the content will be on the next page. I know that page-break-before and page-break-after works with pdfcrowd but with smaller report chucks it creates a lot of excess whitespace.

Any thoughts on this?

Hi all,

I tried to use the 'Lucida Grande' font, but the converted pdf always uses the Arimo font.

Specifiying a font by
@font-face {
font-family: "Lucida Grande";
src: url(http://path/to/LucidaSansUnicode.ttf) format("truetype");
}
also doesn't seem to work.

Is there a list which fonts are supported by default, and can additional fonts be used by using @font-face? If so, how?
